We act for both Paying and Receiving Parties as we believe that this is the best position to adopt. It is not until you have been on both sides of the courtroom that you can reasonably and accurately advise a client as to their best course of action and prospects of success.
Our areas of knowledge and skill covers:
Civil Litigation
We cover all areas of civil litigation at all levels of jurisdiction from the County Court to the High Court and even the Supreme Court. We presently act for clients pursuing everything from Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence cases to Housing Disrepair and financial disputes in Matrimonial cases.
Commercial Litigation
We act for a number of specialised law firms dealing with significant disputes ranging from £100,000 to £10,000,000 in both the Commercial Court and the Chancery Division, covering everything from contractual disputes to insolvency.
Arbitration
We have been instructed to act on many Marine, as well as Construction Arbitrations. Whilst the principles are the same, it is important to understand the differences that arise with matters pursued under the Arbitration Act 1996 and to ensure that the client’s position is always protected.
Costs Budgeting
We have been costs budgeting from the first day of its introduction and, whilst a lot has changed in terms of the document structure, the law and the approach of the courts, OP Costs Drafting have always been fighting their clients’ corner. Unfortunately, costs budgeting is still not the smooth process that we would all like it to be, but we are always there to assist and guide.
Training/Auditing
Not every client wants training or auditing, but we offer it as a service and, when we have been asked to work in-house to audit or train individuals or teams, we have always received positive feedback.
